Probation Services Division

History

The implementation of the Probation of Offenders Act of 1907, in 1947 in Trinidad and Tobago, established the Probation Services Division as an alternative to imprisonment of young persons before the Courts.

Probation Services now serves as a socio-legal arm of the government which provides rehabilitation and counselling for those in need.

Vision

To become an effective and efficient functionary within the socio-legal net to promote the philosophy of probation.

Mission

To promote the rehabilitation of probationers, offenders, victims and dysfunctional families through education, research and advocacy.
