Criminal Injuries Compensation Board
History
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) was established in 2006 to provide a simple effective, equitable and humane means whereby a victim of a crime of violence can obtain compensation for injuries suffered. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board is comprised of seven members:
- Chairman – Attorney
- Criminal Lawyer
- Civil Lawyer
- Medical Practitioner
- Psychologist
- Representative of The Tobago House of Assembly (THA)
- Representative of The Ministry of Justice
Vision
To meet the needs of our clients, the victims of crime or their dependants in Trinidad and Tobago, with respect, compassion, professionalism and efficiency.
Mission
To positively improve the lives and circumstances of victims of crime and their dependants in Trinidad and Tobago through the efficient and timely processing of applications for compensation in a compassionate, transparent and equitable manner.
